My biffffday...again!

I do not know how it happened.
I just woke up with another year-ring around my (slightly expanding)...trunk!

Don't get me wrong, I am OK with the age thing. Every line, every pound and every pain has been well earned. I feel like I am finally growing into my skin, which has always been a bit more than what I have taken up.

I took the week...uhm...OK, the month (!) to celebrate 2013, as I think 2014 just started for me.  It is hard work to get older!!!

I hope it will be a good one, a softer and gentler year, filled with love and compassion and abundance. And this is my favorite 2014 poem....

Love After Love

The time will come
when, with elation,
you will greet yourself arriving
at your own door, in your own mirror,
and each will smile at the other's welcome
and say, sit here. Eat.
You will love again the stranger who was your self.
Give wine. Give bread. Give back your heart
to itself, to the stranger who has loved you
all your life, whom you have ignored
for another, who knows you by heart.
Take down the love letters from the bookshelf,
the photographs, the desperate notes,
peel your own image from the mirror.
Sit. Feast on your life.

  1. Happy Birthday A. I thought of you alot this week and now I realise why... Sitting with my final Reflections - a few hours away from completing my work for the course at GSB. Thank you for blessing my life with your presence. I am more ME, because of YOU (and Chris Breen, but that's a tale for another day).

May the year ahead be filled with ABSOLUTELY AMAZING memories and may those smile lines keep growing so that each time you look in the mirror you see the blessings you radiate returned to you.

    Met Liefde,
    H
